About Us

Discover Why Rocky Waters Has Continued To Be A Well-Loved Gatlinburg Riverfront Lodging Tradition For Many Years.

Generations have made the Rocky Waters Motor Inn their home away from home while vacationing in the Great Smoky Mountains. The Inn overlooks Cliff Branch Creek in downtown Gatlinburg. Each guest room has a private balcony directly on the river with great views. Guests will enjoy the sound of rushing water when recharging for another day to take advantage of all that Gatlinburg and the mountains have to offer.

The Inn (pictured below) opened around 1936 and was one of the first hotels in Gatlinburg after the Great Smoky Mountain Park opened in 1934. President Franklin Roosevelt officially dedicated the park as a national park in 1940. Today the Inn is the lobby and 36 guest rooms built in 1953. The other original buildings are in use as retail shops next to the Inn.
